In Nay Pyi Taw Zoological Garden, domestic/foreign endangered wild life species and birds are being protected, and also continuously develop breeding activities to protect from their extinction. Myanmar endangered species likes Myanmar Roofed Turtle and Star Tortoise are successfully conserved with the cooperation of the specialist from various organizations. Especially, Nay Pyi Taw Zoological Garden is developing not only scientific research on Myanmar native wildlife species like Myanmar Roofed Turtle, Myanmar Star Tortoise, but also breeding activity on foreign wildlife species like penguin, gnu, nyala, etc., which tend to be regarded as the most crucial role in wildlife and environmental conservation activities.
